Earn Money Online With An Internet Income

To earn money online is an aspiration that is actually quite novel. In the years before all these new websites came into the scene, there were few opportunities to earn money online. Nowadays, you cannot surf the Net without stumbling on ideas to earn money online. An Internet subscription is not even necessary anymore.

The Internet offers many opportunites to make money. Many people choose to start an internet business of their own. Most of these businesses sell merchandise. These include clothing, collectibles, and everything in between. These businesses can have the potential to bring their owners a great deal of profit.

A reason to sell items over the internet is that it can be very prosperous, since there are wider markets available to you for sales. For example, if you have an unknown trading card and live in a small place in America, there are chances that nobody is going to be interested in buying your card, and you can forget any profit. Using the internet enables you to reach millions of persons all over the world.

The ability for Internet related businesses to reach the massess and people beyond the normal geographic reach is a huge advantage over static businesses. You have a lot to gain in many avenues by making use of this advantage, should you successfully integrate the Internet with your business.

Another way to earn money online is to be hired into an internet job. What this is is a job that you work over the internet. Some of the types of these jobs are in telemarketing. You can find many companies online that offer jobs to people over the internet. These jobs are normally working in a call center selling items for another company.

You can even make money online by selling off your junk. You don't have to have a complete store selling items in order to be capable of making money online. Most people have large amounts of items available to them that they do not utilize on a daily or even yearly basis. Many people find that they can sell these items to people that need them for potential profits. There are many online auction sites that will allow people to accomplish this at a relatively low cost to them.

How to earn money online: One effective and popular method is to open an online store. Advantages of this option include a wide customer base and a wide array of niche markets to fill. Internet businesses have the advantage of a wide geographical reach compared to stationary ones, and Internet companies should use this to their advantage. Internet jobs are another option. Harnessing the Internet, one can telemarket or answer customer service questions at a call center. Online garage sales are also a good idea. There is no need to move items outside or deal with passers-by, as the auction site will take care of this for you.

Make your Own FREE Blog

You can create one for your own personal use to show your family and friends, promote your own companies products or make money by promoting affiliates or various other money makers. No matter what you plan to make a website for this is how to do it.

Step 1:
Come up with an idea for your website. Try to make it something you are interested in and/or something you have at least some knowledge of. If you have no knowledge on the subject but you really want to create a website on the subject it is possible just be sure you research things before you give out information.

Step 2:
Think of one good keyword or keyword phrase. If you are building a website about inline skates your keyword should be something like ' inline skates'. When choosing your keyword keep your competitors in mind. If you are building a website about computers you may want to think twice before picking the keyword 'computers'. If you have plenty of money for marketing your website then you may be able to be successful with a very competitive keyword but if you are an average person you may want to think of something a little less competitive like 'computer information'.

A very valuable resource you should use ( I use it just about every day for one thing or another) is the Keyword Selector Tool at http://inventory.overture.com. Type in your keyword in the very simple tool, this will show you how many searches were on yahoo in the last month on the keyword you typed in and on other keywords similar to it. I would suggest picking a keyword that is RELEVANT to the theme of your site that has somewhere between 2,000 and 10,000 searches a month. This is because of what I said before, competition. If you are starting your first website you DO NOT need to waste your time competing with Dell or Microsoft. Once you choose your Keyword or Keyword phrase either write it down or memorize it, this will be a very important part of getting your website known.

Step 3:
Now that you have the idea for your website and the keyword, you need a domain (the actual website address, ie. http://www.yoursite.com) Now you need to think of a domain name. When considering your domain name, try to think of one that has each word of your keyword or keyword phrase in it, for instance, if your keyword is computer information the idea domain would be http://www.computerinformation.com. Of course most domains are allready taken so you will have to add something in, a suggestion would be http://www.computer-information-now.com . Do not get too stuck on picking the right domain name, allthough it is better to have your keyword in your domain, it will not badly damage your marketing.
You register domains through what is called a 'Website Host' Choosing a bad host can cause problems in the future. I have always used the same host called 1and1, so I honestly couldn't tell you all about every host out there. 1and1 provides me with everything I have needed in my online business and I would recommend them to anyone. For this instruction I will use 1and1 for the examples as this is the Host I am familiar with. To find out which domains are available go to 1and1 homepage, on the right in the middle of the page there is a spot to check domain availability, you simply type in the domain you are interested in and it will tell you if it is available or not.

Step 4:
Now that you have chosen your domain name you will need to register it. Right now, August 2006, one domain on 1and1 costs 6 dollars per year. This is a very good price, I think just about everyone in the world can afford to spend six dollars a year to own a website that could possibly bring in 10,000 times that in a year. On the previous step I explained how to find out if a domain is available or not. Go back to the 1and1 website, type in the domain you have chosen and just follow the simple steps. You will have to choose a hosting package, since you are probably brand new to all of this you may want to choose the basic package but if you know you are going to stick with this you will eventually want to purchase the business package.

Step 5:
Now you have come up with the idea for your site, chosen a good keyword, chosen a domain and registered it. Now how do you actually create the website? I think this is the step that scares most people away from the idea of making your own website, but it is actually very easy. You DO NOT have to know HTML ( Hypertext Markup Language- The code that actually makes a website work) to build a website, you DO NOT have to know anything about Website Design, all you have to know is what I have told you already and what I am about to tell you.
If you do know how HTML works it is possible to make your website straight through your host but it will take you 10 times more time and effort. There is software out there that has been created for you to use that will create the HTML for you. I use a program called Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver is said to be the number one website building software on the market. This is the only software I have used and I can honestly say it is INCREDIBLE. When I first purchased this software I had no idea how to use it. It took a few hours to learn how to use the basics and a few weeks to learn the more advanced stuff but anyone can learn how to use it just by messing around with it and seeing what things do.

Dreamweaver also provides a good training tutorial on their website. Purchasing this software will be the biggest investment you will make in the whole process of making a website but in the long run it is WELL worth the investment. You can go to the main website through the banner I have placed below. If you get stuck you can always call them, afterall you did pay for the software, they should provide technical support right? They do!

Well thats it, if you have followed all of these steps just how I said, you now have your very own unique, operational Website.

Search Engine Optimization Tips

NO ONE knows exactly what the SE's look for when they show a site at the top of their results. There are, however, many optimization techniques used that have proven to provide great results.

Some of the techniques I will tell you about here are techniques that I have personally gotten great results with. I will also tell you about some small things that many SEO experts say are a good thing to do. SEO optimization is something that is frequently changing but if you learn at least the basics you wont go wrong.

There are many different opinions on exactly what SEO optimization is so I will tell you mine. SEO means you are optimizing your website in order to gain top SE placement, this means link building, obtaining the right key word density on pages, creating allot of content and having good clean html code to give a very basic explanation.
So lets get started. I will use this website as an example when going through techniques.

Domains - Many say having your keyword in the URL of your site is very important. In my opinion it is not as important as it was in the past but it definitely would not hurt to go ahead and do so. My main keyword is 'make money online' so i have money and online in the URL. Keyword density is important on page so I figure it is important in the URL as well. Too much of any keyword is bad so I try to have about 60-75 percent keyword density in my URL.

META Tags - Probably the two most important parts of Optimizing your code that really need to be right are the title tag and description tag. Here is an example of what i'm talking about:

Title - Make sure your title is TO THE POINT. Do not add anything extra. Whatever the main keyword for the page is, is what the title should be, no more no less. That brings me to another point, having different titles for each individual page. I have come across many sites that either do not have title and description tags at all or have the exact same ones for every page on their site. It is very important to establish a main keyword for each individual page and place the exact keyword in the title tag. You should not have the same title in any two pages.

Description - Use the same advice I gave for the title tag when creating the description but you can add a little more than the keyword in here. Do not make the description too long. I recommend somewhere around 6-10 words. The description should be on every page as well. The description should be different for every page and unique to that individual page.
Keyword Saturation - The number of times your keyword shows up on each page is not as impoartant as it used to be with the implementation of LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) but in my oppinion it is still somewhat important. The phrase keyword saturation refers to the number of times your keyword shows up on any given page. Each page on your site should have a different main keyword. You need to use this main keyword in the content of the page you are creating but do not get too carried away. I do not believe that there's a set percentage. I believe that the search engine algorithms are much more complex than that and the percentage of each keyword phrase is a very small part of their overall decision.

Keywords - In the old days of Internet Marketing a webmaster could obtain top SE ranking just by stuffing their keyword meta tags full of their keyword without any SEO optimization. Those days are gone along with the importance of the keyword meta tag. Many webmasters continue to use this tag like myself, just in case but I have not noticed any kind of an effect nor have I heard others talk about one. This is what the keywords meta tag should look like:

HTML Format - The basic format of any html page should begin with then , followed by

Article Marketing

There are many factors that go into the successful promotion of a Business via the Internet. Sure, you can pay for advertising using Google Adwords or one of the other Pay Per Click (PPC) programs but who wants to spend money on something that they can get for Free? Article Marketing is a free form of advertising that can and will skyrocket your sales if done correctly!
What is Article Marketing? Article Marketing is the process of writing interesting articles on your niche and submitting them to popular Article Directories,
Ezines and Newsletters in order to brand your name, product and/or service.

Each article that you create will have a Signature Box or About the Author section that contains a little information about you and your Business including a link or two pointing to your Website.

These links will help in the Search Engines (SE) ranking of your Website but that is only the beginning!

The ultimate goal is to create articles that are of value and interest to the viewer. Article Marketing is a very hot topic in the Internet Marketing community for good reason. The problem is, most people do not appreciate the beauty of this marketing machine.

The true power of Article Marketing lies in the Authors willingness to truly help their audience. When you create interesting, helpful articles that answer questions and/or fix problems, they have a good chance of going viral. A viral article is one that is so interesting that one person sends it to his or her friends and their friends send it to their friends and so on.
In order to succeed with Article Marketing you need to understand the routine of the average Article Marketer. The average Article Marketer writes an article in about 20 minutes and blasts it to as many article directories as possible. Their main goal is to write as many articles as possible and submit these articles to as many article directories as possible. Most of the articles that they create are on rehashed subjects that their target audience probably already knows all about. They have not generated interest and they have not solved any problems! The only thing that they gain is links from several different article directories of which are mostly low quality.
Now that you know that, you already fall in the top 10% of all Article Marketers and you haven’t even begun!

How do I get started with Article Marketing? First you need to know your target audience. Most likely you already know whom you will be targeting, as it is the same as the target audience of your Business.

Second, think of a problem that your target audience faces. The larger the problem, the better. If you know how to solve this problem then you are ready to begin. If not, keep thinking until you come up with a problem.Once you have decided what topic your article will be on, you will need to come up with one main “keyword.” For instance, if the problem you are addressing is how to remove coffee stains from a carpet then your keyword may be “coffee stain removal.”
Now think of an attractive title. The title of your article is extremely important; as this is what will draw in your viewers, so make it interesting. Another thing to keep in mind is that many of the Article Directories place the title in their META tags. If you are not sure what META tags are it’s OK. Just know that they play a role in the SE’s decision on whether or not a particular page should rank high for a specific keyword. Be sure to insert the keyword that you came up with into the title.

Now you need to put your thoughts onto paper, not in the literal sense unless this would be easier for you. Open your favorite word processor, Microsoft Word is the most common, and type in your title.

Now that you have a topic and keyword, it is time to write the article. When creating your article let the words flow just as if you are speaking. Try to make it as interesting as possible and break it up into several small paragraphs. This will make it easier to read, as most people “scan” through articles online. Be sure to create a paragraph at the very end of your article that contains about 2 sentences. This paragraph is your “Signature Block” and this is where you will say a few words about your Business. Be sure to include a link or two as well.

Once you have finished your article it is time to submit it. Go to EzineArticles.com and ArticleDashboard.com and create an account. Once your accounts are created and active you are ready to submit your article. It can take several days for these sites to approve your article, as they are manually reviewed.

The last thing you will need to do is seek out Websites that contain Newsletters and/or Ezines. Contact these Webmasters and let them know that you create interesting articles that focus on the subject within their list and you would be delighted if they would take a look. Some of these Publishers will deny you and some will accept. The main thing is that you continue to write interesting articles as often as possible.

That is how to get started with Article Marketing in a nut-shell. Just “rinse and repeat” and you will start to see some very good results!

5 Proven Google Adwords Secrets

The following technique is actually pretty easy, you may even say it is common sense.

1. Start off by doing a few Google Searches for low-competition keywords. The ideal keyword would be one of a product or service that has only 2-4 sponsored ads to the right side of the page.

2. Once you find a good product to promote you will need to either purchase a product that is very relevant to this keyword that comes with master resale rights or find an affiliate program that you can promote.

3. If it is a product that you will be promoting, create a sales page including a purchase link. I use PayPal for this but you can use whatever you want. Once this is done you are ready to create your campaign. If it is an affiliate link you will be promoting then you are ready to begin your google adwords campaign as well.

4. Go to your Google Adwords account. If you do not have one then you will need to Create a Google Adwords Account. Create a simple campaign with a catchy title and description. Use as many relevant keywords as you can think of. Do not specify any particular region unless the product would only appeal to one specific region. Complete the ad setup and be sure to split-test it by adding a second ad to your campaign. Give it a couple days and see how each ad is performing. Select the least performing ad and change it. The two ads in your campaign should always be competing against one another.

5. Repeat the entire process as many times as you possiblt can. Can campaigns/products will not make you any money while others will make a lot. The more campaigns that you can make like this the more income potential there is.

How to Deal with Difficult People - Easy Tips to Conquer and Help Difficult People

Countless sad songs have been dedicated to lonely people who can't seem to cope up with the world. Difficult people are among the lonely. In their inability to cope with their surroundings, they are often avoided by other people. Want to know simple ways on how to deal with difficult people? Read this article and you'll discover some great tips on how to deal with difficult people and help them in the process.

Difficult people, in their need for acceptance, force themselves to be acknowledged by others. The conflicts that result make them difficult people to be with. And as more people end up being difficult, the number of lonely people in the world swells to multi-millions.
This is a most overlooked dire need that persists through the ages - it is deemed that many lives are destroyed more by this malady than by wars, famines, and plagues.

Anyway, we can start a crusade to help difficult people overcome their attitude by paying sufficient attention to them rather than by becoming curious on their personality alone. Helping a difficult person overcome his attitude means one less lonely person in the world. Think of what can happen if each of us "adopts" a difficult person. That will spell lots of relief to the rest of the world!

It is easy to deal with difficult people. You only have to make sure that you are not difficult yourself. It is quite hard to check yourself for difficult attitudes if you do not know what to look for. A checklist from experts who really conquer difficult people, or from those who have overcome being difficult, will help tremendously. The checklist may look something like this:

1. Do you like meeting and being with people?

2. Can you accept them as they are?

3. Do you easily forgive offenses?

4. Are you easily hurt by what people do or say?

5. How do you take life or work pressures?

6. Have you been abused?

7. Are you a loving person, and do you express love too?

Once you are sure that you are not a difficult person, you can start your crusade. You can help difficult people by:

1. Listening sincerely.

2. Being agreeable.

3. Being quiet most times.

4. Smiling.

5. Becoming an indispensable friend.

6. Correcting then without being obvious.

7. Teaching them to love through your love for them.

Know how to deal with difficult people and you make this world a better place to live in. Help some more and you are well on your way to building a paradise.

Persuasion Techniques to Handle Difficult Customers

Persuasion techniques are essential to apply in the field of sales and marketing, as dealing with an irrational customer is one of the toughest situations you can tackle. How do you exactly alleviate the fury of a buyer who is livid because of something you, the service or product, or your company failed to perform? This is where influence and persuasion techniques may come in handy.

Because the field of sales is not a walk in the park, there will be times when you will be shouted at, and even hurled harsh words by clients who are not satisfied. Don't be alarmed. This is a normal situation. And being so, there are ways to rise above them so that you don't break down, too.

First, find out what the client is angry about. Is he complaining about your service? Is he unclear about certain points in the agreement or the product? Did the problem come from you or did it spring out of his frustration over something he misunderstood? What are his sentiments exactly?

You can find this out by being calm with the client, no matter how irritable he is. Ask politely what the problem is and request that he explain it to you. Don't interrupt and try to defend yourself or correct him while he explains. Wait for him to finish and then enumerate all your responses to his problems.

Often, the customer does not really want to know exactly what you are doing to rectify the situation, only that you tell him that steps are being undertaken to correct it, and when precisely this is expected to be solved. One thing clients hate most is continuously waiting for solutions that are not certain to happen.

When you have figured out what he needs, level with him. Building rapport with your client is one of the best ways to get into a straight conversation with him without the flare-ups. This means adopting his current mood. If he is angry, let him know that you understand his feelings. If he is frustrated, empathize. Clients appreciate people who they know feel their pain. When you have succeeded in this, you can expect to have a much calmer discussion right after.
Don't say something like "I'm sorry for that. I'm already on it." Instead, say something like "I understand that you are angry now. I will feel the same if I were you. Rest assured that I will do everything in my power to correct this matter as soon as possible. I will constantly update you of the developments as I progress."

Handling an irate customer is not so difficult if you know how to level with people. Think of it this way. If you were in his shoes, you would be feeling the same way, right? How would you want the other person to face you then? That should always be your guiding strategy. Build rapport with the use of proper persuasion techniques and, together, seek solutions. No issue has ever been solved by an argument.

What is The Difference Between a Worm, Virus and Trojan Horse?

Tips and recommendations for protecting your PC...

Most of us don't make a real difference between worm, virus and Trajan Horse or refer to a worm or Trajan Horse as a virus.

All of us know all are malicious programs that can cause very serious damage to PC. Exist differences among the three, and knowing those differences can help you to better protect your computer from their often damaging effects.

A computer virus is a program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes. Some viruses cause only mildly annoying effects while others can damage your hardware, software or files. Almost all viruses are attached to an executable file, which means the virus may exist on your computer but it cannot infect your computer unless you run or open the malicious program. A virus cannot be spread without a human action, (such as running an infected program) to keep it going. People continue the spread of a computer virus, mostly unknowingly, by sharing infecting files or sending e-mails with viruses as attachments in the e-mail.

A worm is a program or algorithm that replicates itself. A worm has the capability to travel without any help from a person from PC to PC and have ability to replicate itself on your system, so rather than your computer sending out a single worm, it could send out hundreds or thousands of copies of itself, creating a huge devastating effect.

A Trojan Horse is a destructive program that "working" as a benign application ( (like changing your desktop, adding silly active desktop icons) or can cause serious damage by deleting files and destroying information on your system. Trojans are also known to create a back door on your computer that gives malicious users access to your system, possibly allowing confidential or personal information to be compromised. Trojans do not reproduce by infecting other files nor do they self-replicate.

Added into the mix, we also have what is called a blended threat. Blended threats combine the characteristics of viruses, worms, Trojan Horses, and malicious code with server and Internet vulnerabilities. By using multiple methods and techniques, blended threats can rapidly spread and cause widespread damage. Characteristics of blended threats include: causes harm, propagates by multiple methods, attacks from multiple points, and exploits vulnerabilities. This combination of method and techniques means blended threats can spread quickly and cause widespread damage. Characteristics of blended threats include: causes harm, propagates by multiple methods, attacks from multiple points and exploits vulnerabilities. They are considered to be the worst risk to security since the inception of viruses, as most blended threats require no human intervention to propagate.

Therefore is very important to protect your PC with a good anti-virus software installed on your system with the latest fixes for new viruses, worms, and Trojan horses.

Additionally, you want to make sure your anti-virus program has the ability to scan e-mail and files as they are downloaded from the Internet. This will help prevent malicious programs from even reaching your computer. You should also install a a system that prevents unauthorized use and access to your computer (firewall as well). A good software firewall will protect your computer from outside attempts to control or gain access your computer, and usually provides additional protection against the most common Trojan programs or e-mail worms.

10 Tips for Bloggers

Tips for creating a blog.
There are no hard and fast rules on how to blog. Having said that, bloggers will likely increase their exposure by following some simple blog guidelines.
1.) Stay on topic.
Opinions are generally accepted but the content of the items in the blog should all relate to a general theme. Unless you have an uncanny knack for wit, humor or cynicism, the majority of your readers will be interested in the content that relates to a specific defined theme or loosely defined area of interest. Most readers won't care that you eat Cheerios for breakfast. They may, however, be interested in the fact that vinegar takes out stains and that toilet paper rolls make great wreaths. Define a topic and stick to it. This will ensure that you create a loyal following of interested readers.
2.) Stay informative.
If you are attempting to create the impression that you are knowledgeable about a specific industry or sector, be sure that you stay current on news. If you are endorsing a product or voicing an opinion, be sure to check your facts; your reputation is at stake. If you are offering an opinion, be sure to qualify your post, making it clear that the content is intended as an editorial.
3.) Old news is not news.
While blogging every day can be a drain, it is important that the information presented is current and accurate, writing an article or blurb about something that happened 6 months ago, will not be of interest to many. Telling your audience that Martha Stewart was convicted and will be going to prison, after her sentence is completed will make people question the value of your columns.
4.) Adhere to a schedule.
Create a schedule and stick to it. Realizing that blogging requires time and effort, don't create unrealistic expectations and be unable to deliver. An occasional lapse or holiday is generally understood but readers returning to find stale, out-dated content are going to find another blog with similar content. New blogs and RSS feeds are popping up on a daily basis. If you have worked hard to develop an audience and a community you don't want to lose them due to lack of communication.
5.) Clarity and simplicity.
Keep your posts and blog entries clear and easy to understand. Remember, the web is global and expressions, idioms and acronyms don't always translate. Sometimes a little explanation goes a long way.
6.) Keyword-rich.
If the goal of your blog is to increase your visibility, include related keywords in the title of the blog. Use the title as a headline to attract interest. Each item post should have a title that will attract attention but still be relevant to the post. The title should be no longer than 10-12 words.
7.) Quantity matters.
In order to attract the attention of search engines, you will need to develop content and substance. A headline or simple sentence is not going to generate the interest of readers or help with search engine ranking. Be sure to archive old blog posts to develop a large portal of similarly-themed content.
8.) Frequency.
If your blog content is updated frequently, search engines will tend to spider the pages at regular intervals.
9.) Spell checking and proof-reading.
It only takes a few extra moments and can save you from having to make embarrassing explanations. Remember that whatever you publish on the Internet can be found and archived. Think carefully about what you post before doing so.
10.) RSS.
RSS will increase your blog's reach. It is important that you include your blog's content in an RSS feed to increase readership and distribution.
Most weblog audiences are small, but with time and regular updates audiences grow. Bloggers may never have more than a few hundred readers, but the people who return to regularly are generally interested in what you have to say.

Everything Blogs...

What are Blogs?

Having heard the term previously but not having paid much attention most are just to afraid to show their ignorance and ask the question, what is a blog? Lets face it; the term blog does not conjure pleasant images.
Blogs are web logs that are updated regularly, usually on a daily basis. They contain information related to a specific topic. In some cases blogs are used as daily diaries about people's personal lives, political views, or even as social commentaries. The truth of the matter is that blogs can be shaped into whatever you, the author, want them to be.
Where Did Blogs Come From?

The roots of blogging can be traced back to the mid 1990's. Who the very first blogger actually was is unclear, as the art of blogging did not really take hold until 1999. The original "weblogs" were link-driven sites with personal commentaries. The very first blogs were human guided Internet web tours. While initially thought of as diaries or online journals, blogs have evolved into the latest fresh web content.
The Future of BlogsA buzz word in techie circles, "blogging" is the wave of the future. Whether its a fad, or proves to be a new way to communicate with existing and potential customers it deserves at the very least a cursory look.

Why is Blogging Helpful to Businesses or Individuals?

Just as animated .gifs were once cool, blogging is the trendy thing to do. That does not mean that it is not beneficial to businesses. Webmasters struggling to keep fresh, attractive content on their websites to lure visitors back, have found blogs the answer. Content is a necessity for online businesses, both for purposes of being found by search engines but also because it gives visitors a reason to come back.
Now that we have established that blogs are not only trendy but also beneficial to businesses, its important to understand how they can be used to your advantage. We currently manage and update two blogs on a daily basis. The first is our new business blog at:
http://www.notepage.net/blog.htm
This professional business blog allows us the opportunity to tell potential, or existing customers industry news, updates, or generally how mobile or paging software can be used in specific situations to alleviate problems. The bottom line is we control the content. Its updated daily, which increases the chances that search engines will spider on a regular basis and it helps with page rank because it's been submitted to all the blogging directories. Initially started on a whim we've found it beneficial to report tips, tricks or make visitors aware of new regulations related to the mobile or paging industry.
The second blog we manage is at:
http://www.softwaremarketingresource.com/blog.html
This blog is less formal and contains marketing tips, or promotional advice for software developers or online marketers. We found that we had overflow from our monthly newsletter. Generating a daily blog would require very little effort and would assist us in creating fresh content which our readers told us was of significant interest.
Blogs & Your Business
The bottom line is you need to determine how a blog will benefit your business, determine a schedule and adhere to it. Let your readers know what to expect and when to expect it. Blogs provide great supplemental content and direct attention to areas of your business that you want to showcase; you direct the content but let your readers guide you.
Creating a Blog
There are numerous online tools that can be used to create a blog. We found that because of security concerns, it would just be best to use a standard html program. In our case we used Dreamweaver and create daily posts. Its really not much more complicated than typing an email. The content is then sent via FTP to a web server. If you want to test the waters there are online web-based tool that helps you publish to the web instantly. The most popular web based tool is likely Blogger http://www.blogger.com.
Other Advantages to BlogsWhile you may initially create a blog for your existing customers, you may find that you can attract new customers by illustrating your expertise in a specific field. There are numerous websites that act as "blog search engines", be sure to submit your sites to these websites to increase your exposure. This will also help with your page rank and possibly increase the likelihood you will receive decent ranking with Google. You can also create an RSS feed in order to syndicate blog content and gain additional exposure.
